Kapil Dev has acquired a 16-acre parcel of land in Karjat for a sum of Rs 8 crore.

NAVI MUMBAI: Former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev has purchased a 16-acre land in Mograj village of Karjat taluka. He had registered the property on Friday. This is the second land purchased by the 1983 Prudential World Cup Cricket winning team captain.
The land spread on both sides of the road is located around 500 metres away from Kothimbe village and much ahead of the tourist hotspot Solanpada dam.

The land spans both sides of the road. Kapil Dev purchased the land from Mohan Gaikar, a farmer from Hedvali village, for Rs 8 crore, as per their agreement.

Despite the government’s printed ready reckoner rate valuing the area slightly higher at Rs 9.03 crore, Kapil Dev paid Rs 8 crore for the land. Consequently, he had to pay higher stamp duty based on the government’s ready reckoner price rather than the actual purchase price. The registration process was carried out accordingly.

In addition to this recent acquisition, Kapil Dev had previously bought a 25-acre parcel in Kothimbe village in 2022. His visit and the subsequent registration of the land deal were kept confidential, with a sub-registrar from Panvel, Mangesh Chaudhary, appointed to oversee the registration proceedings at the Neral office.
